Jerome Howard-Smith
The Chase & District Museum displays several original paintings of the noted western artist and cartoon illustrator, Jerome Howard-Smith. Mr. Howard-Smith was born in Illinois in 1861 and died in Vancouver in 1941. He was a colleague of Charles Russell and Frederick Remington.
1923 Franklin (Air-cooled automobile)The Franklin was the most successful air-cooled car prior to the advent of the Volkwagen. This car was built in November 1922 and was the 367th car built by the H.H. Franklin Co., New York, that year. The automobile was owned by Mr. R. Mason of Chase, donated to the Chase Lion's Club and is housed at the Chase Museum. In 1998 this was the 8th oldest Franklin known to exist. Walter F. Montgomery
Mr. Montgomery was a provincially prominent photographer and was particularly well-known for his pictorial portrayal of the logging industry in British Columbia during the early 1920's. The Chase & District Museum & Archives holds many of Mr. Montgomery's original photographs.
